About us
We, AuTerroir, are a family-run winery located in the warmest region of Germany, the Markgräflerland, in the the southwest of Germany. Under our AuTerroir label we have brought together the region's best, but also most challenging, vineyard sites (terroirs), some of which have been in our family for generations.
Using organic, biodynamic viticulture according to Demeter standards, we connect nature with the finest terroirs. These terroirs, with their old, deep-rooted vines, are influenced by the microclimate of the Black Forest hills adjacent to the wine region. Foehn winds and the mild climate create ideal growing conditions for best quality wines.
Our region, like Burgundy, lies at the same latitude and has similar climatic conditions for viticulture. We at AuTerroir primarily cultivate old vines with typical Burgundy varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc.
The two product lines, 37° and 58°, represent the maximum slopes in our vineyards.

AuTerroir 37° Pinot Blanc 2024 "Old Vines"
Our 37° Pinot Blanc is crafted from very old vines, which impart a particularly high level of minerality. We hand-harvest these noble Pinot Blanc grapes and cultivate them biodynamically to produce an elegant, fresh wine. This Pinot Blanc is equally popular among our customers and wine critics.
AuTerroir 37° Chasselas
Chasselas is a rare grape variety grown almost exclusively in Switzerland, Burgundy, and our region of Germany.It is a fresh, crisp white wine— biodynamically farmed, spontaneously fermented, and crafted with a low alcohol content. A wine for every day.
AuTerroir 37° Pinot Noir
Our 37° Pinoit Noir is meticulously crafted from old vines using biodynamic methods and aged for 24 months in barriques. Through gentle hand-harvesting and careful maturation, we achieve a quintessential "Burgundian" Pinot Noir of the highest quality.
AuTerroir 37° Rosé Saignée
Our AuTerroir 37° Rosé Saignée is meticulously crafted from old-vine Pinot Noir using the saignée method—drawing off juice during maceration. A fresh, highly elegant wine, it is one of our personal favorites when served chilled.
AuTerroir 58° Chardonnay
Our 58° Chardonnay grows in our premium vineyard—a steep, south-facing site with a gradient of up to 160%. This exceptional location—blessed b sunshine and swept by gentle breezes—enables us to produce extraordinary Chardonnays.
Like all our wines, this Chardonnay is produced according to strict, certified biodynamic standards. The grapes are hand-harvested, undergo spontaneous fermentation, are then aged in wooden barrels for 12 to 18 months, and bottled unfiltered.The result is a highly expressive Chardonnay — an internationally acclaimed wine that is, in fact, our finest white wine.
